| Description: | The Sales Manager is part of the marketing team and is responsible for the solicitation and management of:
Primary: All attendance-generating sales programs developed for the Affinity Market Program (AMP) and other sales targeted at promoting group sales.
Secondary: Facility rentals, catering and related admission sales.
The Sales Manager will work as a team with the Group Sales Consultant, Catering Sales Manager, Sponsorship Manager, Fundraising Events Manager, and the Director of Marketing, as well as with the Development staff.

| Duties: | Meet and exceed individual and department sales quotas through adhering to existing and newly-established sales guidelines, policies, procedures, and efficient use of available staff and budget through prospecting, closing of a sale and then maintaining mutually-beneficial business relationships.
Professionally represent DZS in all sales transactions and at related industry functions, meetings and trade shows.
Insure an open and constructive working relationship with all other internal departments tied to group sales business.
Responsible for daily outbound sales prospecting and personal sales calls to develop incremental sales opportunities.
Remain abreast of industry trends and competitive information/programs.
Create, analyze and submit required reports when due.
Maintain and control expenses for the Group Sales Department.
Assist with development and updating of the ongoing strategic group sales plan.
Develop and execute the overall group sales strategy.
o Assist with development and implementation of all sales direct marketing programs and sales collateral/promotional material.
o Research and identify sales prospects.
o Create and continually update the prospect database and files.
o Assist in the development of an advertising campaign to increase sales revenue.
o Attend trade shows, industry sales conferences, etc.
o Arrange and hold meetings with interested group prospects.
o Help develop and modify AMP programs and pricing structure.
o Main focus on selling AMP Tickets & More program, picnics and private attendance-based events.
o Secondary focus on facility rentals and social, wedding, corporate, and gala events.
o Negotiate group sale and review all deals. Secure approval for any departure from approved arrangements.
Consult with catering partner on client menu selection and catering estimates as necessary for picnics and catering-related events.
o Immediately hand over to internal sales coordinator once signed to work with other departments as necessary on items and costs to fulfill clients needs.
Confer with the Sponsorship Manager, Fundraising Events Manager, and Development to leverage relationships.
Obtain and record client feedback.
Compile a photo portfolio for future sales materials.
Perform administrative functions as necessary, including typing, copying, and answering the telephone as required.
Handle all other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the Director of Marketing.
Using status and experience as Manager assist with selling, relationship building and maintenance of key house accounts and programs.

| Qualifications: | 5 years of proven and sucessful experience in sales.
3 years of solid events experience.
Strong written and analytical abilities.
Understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other applicable software.
Outgoing and aggressive personality, along with excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor necessary.
Must have valid drivers license.
Overnight travel may be required.
Preferred:
7+ years of proven experience in related sales and strong professional relationships in the corporate and tourism communities.
4+ years of solid events experience.
