| Description: | The part-time Membership Services Receptionist will assist in the day- to-day responsibilities of data entry, customer service, call inquiries, complaints and membership fulfillment of the Detroit Zoological Society (DZS) Membership Services Department.
This is a part-time, regular, year-round position. |
| Duties: | Respond to all customer calls, walk-ins, and e-mails accordingly and in a timely fashion
Responsible for answering and handling calls (be familiar with all facets of the zoo in order to answer questions properly)
Communicate daily with different departments for up-to-date information regarding the zoo (i.e.; exhibit closures, paving projects, marketing promotions)
Provide general information about park-wide facilities
Respond to evening voicemails and distributes them accordingly
Performs errands and makes deliveries throughout the Detroit Zoo
Provide general information about group and education activities and take reservations
Update member/donor records in the database to ensure accurate information
Assist with Memberships, Adopt-an-Animal and Brick Paver sales
Responsible for downloading and inputting data from Netsolutions
Assist with constituent set-ups in Raisers Edge when needed
Assist with data entry in Raisers Edge when needed
Responsible for completing necessary paperwork clearly and accurately
Maintain office and janitorial supplies as well as work orders
Participate in DZS activities and events as required
Performing reception duties outside of the Membership office, in the Administration building as scheduled and as needed
All other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the Membership Services Director, Manager and Supervisor
WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular work schedule will include weekends or may be require to work occasional and early-mornings. The work environment is generally comfortable and most is indoors although the position may require work outdoors with exposure to seasonal weather conditions for special events, tours, openings, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to perform the principal duties of the job. Requires moderate physical effort on a daily basis such as walking, bending, stooping, lifting and standing for extended periods of time. |
| Qualifications: | At least one year of prior experience in a clerical position such as a receptionist or assistant is required
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and listening skills
Detail oriented, good organizational and analytical skills and ability to multi-task
Possesses a positive attitude, willing to help others and enjoys working as a team
Ability to type 40 WPM
Completion of High School; college is preferred but not required
Must be available to work weekends
