|Description:||The Membership Services Associate will be responsible for managing tasks and duties relating to Membership Sales. This includes data entry, customer service, and membership fulfillment of the Detroit Zoological Society (DZS) Membership Services Department. |
This is a seasonal position that will begin in May 2013. Must be available for a flexible schedule from 8am-6pm, days and weekends vary.
|Duties:|| Provide general information about Zoo-wide facilities.|
Responsible for answering and handling guest calls. Must be familiar with all facets of the Zoo in order to answer questions properly.
Respond to all customer calls, walk-ins, and e-mail correspondence accordingly and in a timely fashion.
Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to respond to customer feedback, inquiries and complaints.
Responsible for selling and renewing memberships and processing all transactions.
Meet & greet guests and provide direction for smooth entry into the Zoo.
When scheduled, be willing to work all membership locations including Booths 9, 10, the Membership Underpass, the Membership Sales Booth, and the Membership Services office.
Responsible for accurate data entry and membership fulfillment.
Responsible for daily pre-reconciliation accounting process.
Maintain superior integrity of data, security, and enhancements of the DZS databases and banking systems including; Raisers Edge, Gateway, NetCommunity, E-Galaxy and Lockbox.
Responsible for proper cash handling, accurate closeouts and daily cash pick up/drop off.
Responsible for additional sales of gift certificates, ZooMore attraction tickets and event tickets.
Responsible for ongoing database maintenance including; record merges and updating or creating member records to ensure accurate information.
Responsible for producing reports as appropriate.
Responsible for completing necessary paperwork clearly and accurately.
Provide general information about group and education activities.
Participate in DZS activities and events as required.
All other responsibilities and tasks, as assigned by the Membership Services Director, Manager or Supervisor.
The ability to perform the principal duties of the job.
Must be able to use a computer, cash register and telephone, file documents accurately, communicate with employees, vendors and visitors.
Must have high school diploma.
Knowledge of basic math and accounting principles, Raisers Edge and Excel preferred.
Must have the ability to think quickly and identify solutions to customer service issues.
Must be reasonable, diplomatic and use common sense to make sound decisions.
Must be professional and have a positive, friendly, social disposition.
2 years of customer service experience.
Regular work schedule may include weekends or may be required to work occasional evenings, weekends, early-mornings and holidays. The work environment is generally comfortable and most work is indoors although the position may require work outdoors with exposure to seasonal weather conditions for special events, tours, openings, etc.
